Probability & Addition Task

Peter has been working hard on his math tasks, solving probability and addition problems. He answered all the questions and was very keen to share his answers with Room 4.

We are learning about Probability
(more or less likely) and (higher or less chance).

I am learning about Probabilities or Chance:

The chance that something is more or less likely, less or higher chance…

TASK: Choose the correct answer

How likely are you to grab…

Answer:

Top jar - Purple triangle?: Less likely, less chance because there are more red squares than purple triangles.

Second jar - Yellow heart?: Less likely, less chance because there are more green stars than yellow hearts.

Third jar - Red circle?: More likely and higher chance of red circles than purple squares.

Bottom - Purple triangles?: More likely, a higher chance of purple triangles than yellow stars.

Maths:

I am Learning to solve additional problems

TASK 1:

  1. 6 + 4 = 10 daisy chains altogether

  2. 9 + 5 = 14 folded altogether

  3. 9 + 7 =16 planted

  4. 7 + 3 = 10 tuis i saw altogether

TASK 2:

  1. 19 + 5 = 24 altogether

  2. 10 + 12 = 22 made altogether

  3. 17 + 3 = 20 shells more than Sahara picked

  4. 14 - 6 = 8 beads Katana started with

TASK 3:

  1. 9 + 3 + 11 + 7 = 30 pieces altogether

  2. 19 + 15 = 34 books read altogether

  3. 34 - 18 = 16 plums needed

  4. 24 - 7 = 17 Mya started with
